Sunday, January 26 | 2 p.m. | Augustana’s Fellowship Hall
SWING over to Augustana on Sunday, January 26 at 2 p.m. when we host the John Mills Orchestra in Fellowship Hall. (February 2 at the same time is the backup date in the event of inclement weather.) The first half of this fun program gives a brief history of the Big Band; the second half is a Swing Dance when audience members are invited to “cut a rug” to the sounds of this classic jazz era.
In the style of the Glenn Miller Orchestra, Mr. Mills began his band in 2003 and released the group’s first recording in the same year. A fixture in the Greeley community for decades, John studied music just up the road at the University of Nebraska. He has performed with Bob Hope, Les Elgart, The Dallas Brass, and even backed-up Doc Severinsen. We thank the Augustana Foundation for funding this concert. It will be a toe tapping good time!
