Foot Care Clinic

Scheduled for the fourth Monday of every month, 8:30–11:30 a.m. in Augustana’s Anna Paulson Room. Staffed and scheduled through Visiting Nurses of America.

A 30-minute medical foot care visit includes an overall wellness assessment by a registered nurse who will also provide health care counseling and routine foot care and nail clipping.

All foot care appointments include:

• Medication review.
• Foot exam, including inspection for any discoloration, swelling, redness, warmth, cuts, scrapes, corns, calluses, or other changes of the foot, ankle, and leg below the knee.
• Trimming, cutting, clipping, and debridement of nails.
• Minor buffing of corns or calluses if indicated.
• Hygienic and preventative maintenance care, such as cleaning the feet.
• Testing for nerve damage.
• Skin cream application to maintain skin tone.
• Monitoring blood pressure.
• Checking for pedal pulse.
• Assessing and monitoring chronic diseases including hypertension, heart disease, diabetes, and arthritis.
• Individual health coaching and education.
• Physician updates and outreach to community support system.

The cost is $30 per visit, but if you have Kaiser insurance it may be free. Call Maryann (303-263-1105) to make an appointment.
