“God’s work. Our hands.” Sunday
Sunday, September 12, 2021
“God’s work. Our hands.” Sunday is Sunday, September 12, 2021. This day is an opportunity to celebrate who we are as the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America—one church, freed in Christ to serve and love our neighbor.
Service activities offer an opportunity for us to explore one of our most basic convictions as Lutherans: that all of life in Jesus Christ—every act of service, in every daily calling, in every corner of life—flows freely from a living, daring confidence in God’s grace.

Operation Pantry
To participate in “God’s work. Our hands.” at Augustana, bring your hands to Fellowship Hall, Sunday, September 12, 9–10:30 a.m., for Operation Pantry as we portion bulk dried rice and beans into 2-pound bags for Metro Caring.
If you would like to help toward the purchase of rice and beans or the packaging supplies, you may make checks payable to Augustana and indicate “Operation Pantry” on the envelope and/or check memo line, or donate online here.
Wear your goldenrod “God’s work. Our hands.” T-shirt to worship that day. A few are available from Augustana’s office (303-388-4678) if you need one.
Buy some or all of one computer for secondary students in Uganda!
In connection with “God’s Work. Our Hands.” Sunday, you’re invited over the next few weeks to equip the newly built ChristAid Secondary School with computers. The goal is a total of 30 computers that cost $500 each. Augustana’s Compassion and Action with our Neighbors (CAN) Ministry is funding the first two computers and the Augustana Foundation has generously committed $5,000 to purchase 10 more. CAN Ministry invites the congregation to raise enough for the remaining 18 machines to complete this vital part of the school-opening project!
To donate to this exciting opportunity, please contribute online under “God’s work. Our hands. ChristAid International Computers”or by offering envelope with the memo “ChristAid Computers.”
