Mount Falcon Park Hike
Saturday, September 21, 2019, leave Augustana’s south parking lot at 9 a.m.
This hike just west of the metro area will take us past historic sites and offer scenic vistas of the plains to the east and mountains to the west. We will encounter what remains of John Brisben Walker’s elaborate stone house after being destroyed by a fire in 1918. We then end with a visit to the site of the Summer White House, which Walker intended to be a summer home for the Presidents, but never got past the foundation and cornerstone stage.
