Help provide holiday dinner “baskets” for single-parent families
Share holiday joy by purchasing Easter and Thanksgiving dinner “baskets” for families at Warren Village. The residents prefer gift cards ($40), so they can celebrate holiday meals with their tradition which may not include turkey or ham! Make contributions payable to Augustana Lutheran Church and indicated for Warren Village baskets; or, donate online here.
Donate food to Augustana’s Sanctuary Soup Shelf
Leave what you CAN. Take what you NEED.
This honor system pantry on the sanctuary porch is protected from the elements by the roof over it and accessible outside at any time. Augustana members, friends, neighbors, and staff are invited to stock the shelf OR take what is needed for yourselves and neighbors.
- Canned goods only please (no paper, glass, plastic, or cardboard)
- High protein options preferred – chili, black beans, vegetarian soups, etc.
- Wash your cans and hands when you get home
- Surplus cans will be taken to Metro Caring’s food pantry

Donate food to a food pantry
Metro Caring is an emergency assistance service for those in need in Metro Denver and is supported by a partnership of church congregations (including Augustana). Gifts of money, food, toiletries, diapers, household items, and new toys are always graciously received. There are boxes in Augustana’s Narthex and Fellowship Hall that are clearly marked for food and household goods donations. Donations are accepted in these boxes throughout the year with a special emphasis during Lent.
Shopping list of most-needed nonperishable items:
- veggies (corn, green beans, peas)
- fruit (peaches, pears, mixed fruit)
- peanut butter (any brand, smooth/creamy)
- beans (black, pinto, refried)
- canned tuna (in water)
- entrees/soups (canned chicken, chili w/beans, vegetable soup)
- breakfast items (whole-grain cereal, instant oatmeal, breakfast bars)

Give a gift to Lutheran Disaster Response
ELCA Disaster Response helps to bring God’s comfort, healing and renewal to those affected by disasters. And when the dust settles and the headlines change, we stay to provide ongoing assistance to those in need. When designating your gift for a specific disaster, 100 percent of that gift is used for immediate relief and long-term recovery efforts following that disaster.
