On the third Thursday of each month (excluding July and August), a luncheon is scheduled in Augustana’s Fellowship Hall at 11:30 a.m. Enjoy fellowship, a delicious lunch ($8), and an entertaining or educational program. Our seniors’ friends and visitors are welcome. Reservations are made by calling Augustana’s office (303-388-4678) by noon the Tuesday before the luncheon date.
Augustana’s Silver Notes holds seasonal rehearsals Friday mornings at 9:15 a.m. to prepare anthems for Ash Wednesday and Maundy Thursday. Seniors in the choir share love of music and enjoy Christian fellowship with each other. Adults of all ages who are available to rehearse on Friday mornings are welcome.
Augustana’s Senior Ministry Committee sponsors regular field trips around and about the Front Range. On these day excursions we take off in mid-morning for our adventure and usually combine it with lunch somewhere on the road. Watch for these announcements in the Tower and weekly bulletins or visit our Current Activities section.
Helping Hands Ministry
Are you in need of some handiwork around the house? Perhaps some minor repairs or installing things like hand rails, light bulbs or smoke detectors? How about some general maintenance like raking leaves or shoveling snow? Moving heavy items? There’s a ministry called Helping Hands at Augustana, consisting of several members who are happy to help those in need, especially seniors, single-parent families or simply individuals challenged with doing the work themselves. If you would like to take advantage of this ministry’s service, please contact Julie MacDougall, Administer of Volunteer Ministry and Building Use, at 303-388-4678 ext. 104.
