Designated Gifts

Designated giving refers to contributions made for a specific purpose. Augustana has many different opportunities for designated giving.

Altar lamps

You may make a donation to the altar lamp fund, either in memory of a loved one or in honor of friends, family, or a special occasion. The cost for a while month of altar lamps in Christ Chapel is $27, while a month of lamps for the Sanctuary is $15. Your gift will be acknowledged in the Sunday bulletin the first Sunday of the month you sponsor. To sign up, contact Lyn Goodrum (303-388-4678, ext. 114).

Candles for worship

New this year: your opportunity to sponsor candles for worship either in memory of a loved one or in honor of friends, family, or a special occasion. Your gift of $41 covers a whole month of candles for worship. Your gift will be acknowledged in the Sunday bulletin the first Sunday of the month you sponsor. Flowers for worship

Consider honoring a birthday, anniversary, baptism, marriage, or the memory of a loved one by sponsoring flowers. Augustana purchases three bouquets each week which are delivered to Augustana’s hospitalized and homebound after worship. You may sponsor one or two bouquets for the Sanctuary at $40 each, one bouquet for for Christ Chapel for $20, or all three bouquets for $100. Make checks payable to Augustana Lutheran Church. Please include information about whom you wish to honor or remember and whom the flowers are given by in a pew envelope along with your check. Place the envelope in the offering plate on Sunday morning or leave it in Augustana's office. Your gift will be acknowledged in the Sunday bulletin the first Sunday of the month you sponsor. You may also sign up on the flower chart at the east entrance to the Sanctuary or contact Lyn Goodrum (303-388-4678 ext. 114).

Library books

Augustana has a large selection of reading materials available in the church library and we always appreciate the opportunity to add to our selection.

Easter, Thanksgiving, & Christmas

If you regularly receive offering envelopes from Augustana, special festival envelopes are included at the appropriate time. These special envelopes are also available at Augustana.

Augustana SHARE

Twice a year, Augustana delivers SHARE baskets to Warren Village. This takes place for Easter and Thanksgiving. Prices of the SHAREs vary. Please watch for information about SHARE baskets in the church bulletin and the Tower, or call Augustana's office (303-388-4678).

World Hunger

Special envelopes for the ELCA World Hunger Appeal are located in the pew pockets.

Augustana Foundation

The Augustana Foundation Fund was established by action of the church in 1971. A committee of nine members are appointed and meet quarterly to review the grant requests which are submitted. These requests are for undertakings which enrich and uplift the spiritual life of Augustana, provide worthy addition or improvement to the church's facilities, and give needed assistance or support to a worthy Christian individual, family, or enterprise.
