Cindy Lindeen-Martin, Minister of Music and Organist

Cindy Lindeen-Martin is Minister of Music and Organist and celebrates 11 years of Music Ministry at Augustana. Cindy is involved in coordinating all aspects of Augustana's music ministry including service planning, playing the organ for all worship services, and directing a graded handbell program.

In demand as a performer, lecturer, and adjudicator, she has concertized in Germany, France, Mexico and the United States. She has presented workshops and adjudicated competitions, and was the founder and competition coordinator for the Augustana Arts/Reuter National Undergraduate Organ Competition (2001-2009). She also has an organ studio and especially enjoys introducing the organ to young people and teaching adult church organists. She earned the Doctor of Musical Arts degree at the Eastman School of Music and received bachelor's and master's degrees from Colorado State University. Studies also took her to France for two years working with the renowned organist and musicologist Marie-Claire Alain, where she earned the prestigious Prix d'Excellence.

Cindy enjoys entertaining, cooking, traveling, camping, and reading. Her favorite times are spending time with her husband, Ken, an architect, and their two active high school and college kids.
