Nordic Choir
Monday, January 30, 7 p.m., Sanctuary
The Nordic Choir is a 64-voice a cappella choir of highly select mixed voices from Luther College in Decorah, Iowa. In 1948, just two years after its founding by Dr. Sigvart Steen, a young Weston Noble began a 57-year tenure as music director and conductor. Together, Noble and The Nordic Choir cultivated one of the most honored choral traditions in the United States. Today, under the direction of Dr. Allen Hightower the choir still continues the time-honored choral tradition. For Nordic Choir concert tour tickets, please visit www.luthertickets.com or call 1-800-4 LUTHER.

The Concordia Choir

This year’s 2012 national tour of the Southwestern United States spans 15 days, begins in Denver, and concludes with San Francisco and Minneapolis. This congregational talent show features members and friends who want to share their talent—wacky, reposed, music, comedy, drama, etc. If you have a talent we would like to see it! So, whether you are an act or there for the incredible entertainment, you really do not want to miss this fantastic event. Space is limited; prizes will be awarded for the top vote-getters. Dessert and drinks will be served, and a free will offering will be taken.
9Health Fair
Monday, April 23 and Tuesday, April 24
The 9Health Fair has offered free and low-cost screenings and education to over one million people since 1980. Through these screenings, individuals receive the information needed to make educated choices about their health. Augustana has been a site for the 9Health Fair for 25 plus years. We partner with Congregation Emanuel, and volunteers come back year after year to help during the two-day fair. They are inspired by many things such as strengthening their community, friendship, saving lives, belief in giving back, having fun, and the knowledge that they are making a difference. Both non-medical and medical volunteers are
needed.

AVE in Concert
Sunday, May 27, 3 p.m., Sanctuary
Join AVE (Augustana Vocal Ensemble) for an afternoon of patriotic songs among other favorites in celebration of Memorial Day weekend. The name of the ensemble is both an acronym for the “Augustana Vocal Ensemble” and a term borrowed from historic writings of the Church where it is used as a greeting of highest respect and praise. Literally, it is the imperative form of the Latin verb “to be well.” The ensemble is composed of four permanent members, Margaret Morrison, soprano; Cassidy Smith, mezzo soprano; Bruce Johnson, tenor; and Tony Domenick, baritone.
