You can participate starting with just a dollar a day!
Beginning on July 1, save $1 each day until 10.10.10. You'll end up with $102 for Hunger Relief Day. Invite 100 of your friends to do the same and you will have over $10,000! Don't have 100 friends? Invite 10 friends and challenge each of them to invite 10 more.

Then, bring contributions to the Celebration BBQ at Metro CareRing on 10.10.10. We can feed the hungry of Denver!

Celebration Barbecue
Metro CareRing is hosting a barbecue for all persons bringing $10,000 or 10,000 pounds of food on that Sunday. The barbecue will be held from noon until 2 p.m. at Metro CareRing (18th and Downing, near downtown). It will be a great celebration of hunger eradication!

Metro CareRing is a hunger relief organization that operates one of the largest food pantries in Denver. Last year, Metro CareRing provided emergency and self-sufficiency services to more than 125,000 low-income individuals, offering food (1.7 million pounds in 2009), utility and transportation assistance, and work readiness items, including tools, boots and identification documents.

The number of hungry people in Denver is increasing. Seventy-five percent of households utilizing the Metro CareRing food pantry reported going without food/skipping meals because funds to purchase food were not available "within the last week." It is time to respond with action!
