Augustana’s Stewardship Committee is trying something new this year by challenging the congregation to a goal of 100 new households in the Simply Giving® program, a monthly automated offering withdrawal from a bank account of your choice. The main reason is that many people no longer carry or use checkbooks or cash for their personal banking. This makes following through on the intention to give money during the offering in worship more difficult.
Most of the members of Stewardship Committee have long used Simply Giving® as a way to maintain their commitment to the Christian practice of giving. It made sense to offer this as a practical choice for other people too. A member of Stewardship Committee and Lisa Mikolajczak, Augustana Finance Administrator, will be available in the Fellowship Hall between services on Sundays, September 20 and 27 or October 4 and 11 to answer questions about Simply Giving® as well as start the process either electronically or on paper.
