Angel Tree for LFS refugees

Visit the Angel Tree—now available in Fellowship Hall—and provide a gift for Lutheran Family Services refugee clients. Take an angel from the tree and buy the specific item listed on that angel. Return the gift to Augustana by Sunday, December 11. Do not wrap it, but you may provide a reusable grocery bag or gift bag on the side. Thank you!

Let’s buy farms again this Advent!  

In light of your wonderful and generous responses these last eight Advent seasons, which helped many families toward food independence, our CAN ministry is again collecting special offerings between November 27 and December 24 to buy “farms” through the ELCA Good Gifts program.  A farm consists of animals, seed, tools and educational training.

Purchase a Safe Toy for Foster Source for the next Health Ministry Sunday

In support of the SAFE TOY theme, on December 4, Health Ministry Team is sponsoring a new SAFE TOY collection for Foster Source. Meet Renee Bernhard, Augustana member and Foster Source Founder and Executive Director, and donate a SAFE TOY!

Foster Source needs SAFE TOYS for children ages newborn to 18. Safe toys avoid small pieces and small magnets. Safe toys also avoid any weaponry and/or promoting violent play. Suggestions include textured balls, tangle toys, thinking putty, comfort toys like squishimals, learning-based toys for stacking, counting, or reading, puzzles and board games. Teens love fidget rings and brain teasers. Find some great ideas at the teacher supply store Lakeshore Learning (lakeshorelearning.com).

Next time you are out shopping, pick up a new SAFE TOY and bring it to Coffee Hour, 9:15–10:15 a.m., in Fellowship Hall on Sunday, December 4 to donate. Health Ministry will also be available to check your blood pressure and chat about health and wellness.
