Resurrection of Our Lord, Easter Sunday, April 9

Please register online for Augustana’s Easter worship services below so that we’re prepared with plenty of communion bread and wine for everyone.

Christ is risen, and through him all creation is made new! With the women at the tomb, we are astonished, elated, and grateful. With joy we proclaim the good news of God’s endless love.

All services will have Holy Communion (open to everyone), Augustana’s Chancel Choir, Easter Brass, and Augustana’s Easter Garden.

Welcome to Holy Week and Easter worship!

Everyone is welcome. Yes, even you. We have an open table at Holy Communion. This means that everyone is welcome to receive Holy Communion. Yes, even you. Jesus always drew the circle wider and made the table bigger. Our efforts to do the same are imperfect yet earnest. Come and see.

Palm Sunday/Sunday of the Passion, April 2

Today, we encounter the paradox that defines our faith: Jesus Christ is glorified king and humiliated servant. We wave palms in celebration today as Christ comes into our midst, and we follow with trepidation as his path leads to death on the cross. We begin this week that stands at the center of the church year, anticipating the completion of God’s astounding work.

  • 8 a.m. Worship/Communion – Christ Chapel
  • 10:30 a.m. Worship/Communion – Sanctuary

Livestreaming available for 10:30 a.m. worship.

Maundy Thursday, April 6

Tonight we remember Christ’s last meal with his disciples, but the central focus is his commandment that we live out the promise embodied in this meal. Formed into a new body in Christ through this holy meal, we are transformed by the mercy we have received and carry it into the world.

  • 11 a.m. Worship/Communion – Sanctuary
  • 7 p.m. Worship/Communion – Sanctuary
    First Communion

Livestreaming available for 7 p.m. worship.

Good Friday, April 7

Life and death stand side by side as we enter into Good Friday. We gather in solemn devotion, but always with the promise that the tree around which we assemble is indeed a tree of life.

  • Noon Worship – Sanctuary
Spoken worship and hymns at noon
  • 7 p.m. Worship – Sanctuary
Special music by the Chancel Choir and Augustana Vocal Ensemble

Both services will be livestreamed.
