In July a Missoula Children’s Theatre tour team arrives at Augustana in their Red Truck loaded with a set, lights, costumes, and props, everything it takes to put on a play . . . except the cast. The team holds an open audition and casts 45-60 local students to perform in the production. The show, The Little Mermaid, is rehearsed throughout the week and two public performances are presented at the end of the week!
- Children and youth in grades 1–9 as of fall 2026 are welcome to attend this day camp, July 20-24, 2026, 8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m. each day.
- All participants will try out for a role at camp and be guaranteed a participating part in the play.
- All participants are required to perform in two shows, Friday, July 24 at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m.
- All campers will need to provide their own peanut- and nut-free lunch and water bottle each day.
- In addition to rehearsing, there will be time for play and crafting.
- Cost is $150 until March 1, 2026 and $200 beginning March 2, 2026.
- Participation is capped at 45 participants.
