Overwhelming generosity lifts campaign beyond $7 million!
As donations neared the $750,000 challenge match goal, another generous donor pledged $85,000 more to match gifts over and above $750,000! We are thrilled beyond belief to announce that together we raised $942,700 in the first six weeks of 2026, which is $107,700 beyond the match goal!
These new gifts of generosity, together with the two matching grants, add $1,777,700 to our total, bringing us over $7 million raised to date. We can now confidently move forward toward the priority goals of Fellowship Hall renovation, organ refurbishment, sanctuary renewal, accessibility, and energy efficiency projects.
Our Priority 3 goals include expanding the narthex and completing even more energy efficiency projects. That goal is for an additional $1.5 million, for a total of $8.5 million.
This is an incredible time of gratitude and opportunity in the life of the Augustana congregation, as we prepare for an exciting renewal of our facility, and our ministry!

What’s been happening?
- Eidos Architects designed a master plan for our entire campus.
- Haselden Construction then compiled an exhaustive list of our priority and potential renovation projects with detailed pricing estimates.
- Augustana’s Welcome 150 Workgroup received the estimates and prioritized the project list which was finalized by the Welcome 150 Decision Team.
- The original project priorities remain in place. Haselden pricing increased or decreased from our initial in house estimates while costs for materials have increased. Final project decisions will align with how far our dollars will go as we meet our goal of $8.5 million.
What’s next?
- In February, Eidos Architects met with key music, altar guild, and hospitality leaders to gather even more information about our needs and visions.
- These meetings are key to Eidos’ “Schematic Design” phase, transforming the initial conceptual designs into finalized architectural and spatial designs.
- This is all in preparation for the renovation of the Fellowship Hall tentatively scheduled for January to March 2027.
- Discussions between Haselden Construction and Schantz Organ Company estimate that the organ rebuild and sanctuary renovation will happen between Easter and Christmas of 2027!
